Annual Wine Country ½ Marathon & 5K Run with Kids ½ Mile Grape Stomp

For over 20 years Mission Physical Therapy Group has been a proud sponsor of the largest running event in Northern San Luis Obispo County. Wine Country Runs is a non-profit organization and all proceeds from the event benefit local organizations and charities. Runners and walkers from all over the world show up at this event that has swelled to over 1100 participants. Mary Ann Burke, PT is a member of the event planning committee, and ensures the MPTG staff gets involved, providing first aid services, t-shirt and goodie bag distribution, and event set up.

Annual Arthritis Foundation Central Coast Arthritis Walk

Moving into our 8th year of involvement with the Arthritis Foundation, Mission Physical Therapy Group was instrumental in bringing this National Walking event to our community. Working with corporate sponsors such as Dignity Health, Tenet, Central Coast Orthopedic Medical Group, Orthopedic Specialty Associates, and Amgen, we help create awareness and raise funds for the prevention and treatment for the various types of arthritic conditions. MPTG Staff member Michael Sherman, MS, PTA, RCEP has been a committee member and the entire staff donates their time to event day festivities and fund raising.

Season of Hope 

As part of the CCPN network of health care professionals, Mission Physical Therapy Group is proud to help SLO Food Bank with food donation drives throughout the holiday season. In conjunction with Toys for Tots, Mission Physical Therapy Group helps amass and distribute toys to children throughout the central coast.

Paso Robles Harvest Marathon

2010 was the inaugural event. Sponsored by the Paso Robles Rotary Club, all proceeds from this event benefit youth programs and local charities. Mission Physical Therapy Group Director, Mary Ann Burke MS PT GCS is a committee member for the run. Mission Physical Therapy Group employees help procure products for event day goodie bags. 

City to Sea Half Marathon

Mission Physical Therapy Group is proud to be the starting line sponsor of this community event. Since 1995, the City to the Sea half marathon race has been organized to raise funds for the Cuesta College track and field and cross country teams. The original event allowed Cuesta to build the Fairbanks Cross Country course, which is still enjoyed today by both the teams and the surrounding communities.The Cuesta College track & field and cross-country athletes are vibrant members of the San Luis Obispo community. Race registration helps ensure that these athletes can continue training and racing in one of the best programs the California junior college system has to offer. The half marathon is a USATF (USA Track & Field) certified course.

Golf Fitness Screening

Offered the first Tuesday of every month, Golf Fitness screenings are help golfers identify physical limitations that relate to poor swing mechanics, poor power production, and injuries. Titleist Performance Institute Certified Golf Fitness Instructor Michael Sherman MS PTA RCEP CGFI addresses proper training techniques and exercises.
